Ministries

Ushers' Ministry

The Ushers’ Ministry is a very important ministry in the church. As ushers we believe that we are called by the Lord to serve His people and to assist our Pastor to accomplish his goal to teach the Word of God. With a variety of functions this ministry is very visible and it plays a very important role before, during and after a church service or event.

Positioned strategically during services and events, our ushers are there to lend a helping hand, directing people in the right directions, collecting the offering and distributing information.

As you enter the foyer of our Sanctuary, you will find ushers who will meet and greet you, assist you to complete a visitor’s card and to find comfortable seating for you in the Sanctuary. Our ushers are warm, friendly and reflect the love of Christ in what they do.

Altar Ministry

God has instructed us to pray for and bear each other’s burdens. In response to this, at the end of each weekend service at Garment of Love and Mercy Church, the Altar Ministry team prays for those who need prayer for any reason – whether they’re making a first-time commitment to the Lord or need personal prayer for relationships, finances, job situations, or physical or spiritual healing. Altar Ministry team members have the privilege of interceding for and standing with others in times of need.

Altar Ministry is an opportunity to serve and love people. It’s also an important avenue through which people are led into relationship with the Lord.

Our altar ministers pray at the altar with people, according to their requests, after every weekend service. They refer people to follow-up care while respecting and protecting their confidentiality. Altar ministers always pray and never counsel.

Altar ministers must maintain personal intimacy with the Lord while pursuing spiritual and emotional health and wholeness. All altar ministers must be tithing members of our Church in good standing for at least six months. These include; elders, and deacons after completing the Altar Ministry Training.

Children's Ministry

Our Vision
Our vision is to develop character, respect and integrity in the children Garment of love & Mercy Ministries serves. The Children’s Ministry Department disciples through biblically-based and reality-conscious teaching.

Our Mission
Our mission is to introduce children to Jesus Christ in a manner that transform their lives by encouraging them to develop a personal relationship with Him through prayer and a solid foundation of biblical truths.

According to Proverbs 22:6 “Train up your children in the way they should go” …so that they may be equipped to go into the world and bring the world to the church! This is the basis of our current “Worldview” Curriculum here at Garment of Love & Mercy Ministries. Children are given a scriptural foundation and also an appreciation for other countries throughout the world. We strive to broaden their understanding of the vast differences and similarities of people groups; as a result, we prepare them to be more effective witnesses of Christ to all races and cultures. “And he said unto them, Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Mark 16:15

Children Dedication
Our Children Ministry offers, a Baby Dedication Ceremony to our members with children ages 0-24 months. We believe that our Baby Dedication Ceremony is a parent’s public commitment made before God, family, friends and the congregation, of their choice to raise their child in the distinct awareness of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as well as dedicate themselves to being Godly parents.

Children’s Water Baptism
We offer water baptism to our member’s children, ages 10 through 14. Baptism is the next step in their walk of faith. Every year we teach the reasons for and the benefits of water baptism, so to inform the children of a very important step in their pursuit of Christ. Children’s Baptisms are scheduled half-way in the year. The procedure for baptism is full submergence in water and is performed by qualified Elders. A parental consent form must be signed and submitted to Garment of Love & Mercy Ministries prior to the ceremony.

Young Community

We are a community of young adults and young professionals, ages 18-30s, that seeks to make a difference by serving God’s purposes faithfully in this generation. We gather together to connect through community, worship, and teaching with others in a similar stage of life.

Our Vision:

“We exist to see young adults saved, healed, set free, discipled, equipped, empowered, and serving.”

No matter your story, background, or circumstance, we invite you to be part of the community at Garment of Love and Mercy Church Young Adults.

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. (1 Timothy 4:12)

As young adults it’s easy to shrink back and wait for “your time”. You may have let your fears and insecurities keep you from stepping out and doing what God is calling you to do. It could be finishing college, starting a business, volunteering at church or letting go of a past hurt.

Living this way isn’t easy. It requires complete trust in God. Embrace your limitations, as well as your God given dreams and take a step of faith! Our time is now to lead and to blaze trails. Let’s be the first to serve when given the opportunity, the first to obey, the first to sow a seed, the first to give a compliment. Let’s be leaders in every field God has put us in. If we do that we will be able to look back on in our lives and say behold what God has done because we trusted God and were not afraid.

Singles' Ministry

We are driven by John 10:10, and says, “I have come that you may have life, and life more abundantly”. These words hold the heartbeat of the Single Life Ministry; as it single-mindedly focuses on developing the whole person in such a manner that the social boundaries of gender, race, age, or marital status could never contain the sum of its unfolding. And whether or not such a life of a Single Life member progresses into married bliss or single satisfaction; it surely will progress. The goal of Single life is to encourage, enlighten and empower Singles to grow and develop to a state of wholeness, completion and well-being in God while fully living an engaging, exciting, effective, and meaningful Spirit-filled life.

Worship Ministry

Our vision is “Awakening true worshippers who relentlessly pursue the presence of the Lord”

Our  mission is to inspire, encourage, train, and direct those whom God has called into the music ministry with a spirit of service, excellence, sensitivity, purity, humility and strength.

The out-cry of our heart as a ministry is to give every person an opportunity to experience God in the greatest way possible in every service. It is our desire to train worship leaders with excellence and help facilitate our vision.

In all areas of our ministry, we focus on developing these five foundational values: Core, Character, Craft, Communication, and Culture

Women's Ministry

“Mothers of destiny centers on relationships between women, whether it is mother to daughter, sister to sister, or friend to friend”

Our mission is every woman who is a member of Garment of Love & Mercy Ministries is automatically a member of Mothers of destiny.  She participates in by giving back to the church either financially or by volunteering her services in other ministries both at Church and Community.

We are strategically positioned to minister, touch, empower, include, involve, and encircle every woman of Garment of Love & Mercy Ministries. With a doctrinally sound and programmatic approach to ministry, Mothers of destiny seeks to not only meet every woman at the point of her need, but to strengthen her so that she may reach the point of her abundance.

Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. (Proverbs 30:29)

Men's Ministry

Our vision is “Empowering, Shaping, Equipping, and Discipling, Men to be fully aware of Time in Kingdom.

The goal of our Men’s Ministry is to impact and empower the male believer with transformative truths that enable men to experience a richer fuller relationship with Christ. Our approach is a practical, pragmatic assessment of obstacles and the removing of blockages that have historically deterred them from being successful in Kingdom growth. It is our Mission to enhance and guide men into Biblically sound relationships in their families and churches by making continual deposits into their spiritual, emotional, and economic development as they seek their rightful place in the Kingdom of God!

Our desire and purpose is to develop men into passionate disciples for Christ. Our zeal is to move from just a Men’s Ministry, to a Ministry “To” Men.  This move will require a mindset and process change that begins from the very first day a man joins our church.

EvangelismMinistry

Our Vision

Garment of Love & Mercy Ministries seeks to reach the lost with the gospel of the Kingdom of God globally; making them faithful disciples of Jesus Christ deeply rooted in God’s Word and embraced with Christ’s love.

Our Mission

Develop effective measures of soul winning strategies, as we serve individuals and communities reconciling humanity to God through the power of the Holy Spirit.

And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

  Matthew 28:18-20

Elderly Ministry

The elderly in our church and community are looked after on a quarterly basis by, Elder Margate Nakintu and prayers are shared with our aged.

The Bible, God’s Word, is very clear about the care for the elderly. In the Old Testament God mentions the widows and orphans who should be cared for and protected (Exodus 22:22-23; Deuteronomy 27:19).

Jesus continues with this in the in the New Testament (Matthew 23:14), and James goes on to say that caring for widows and orphans are the fruits of true worship (James 1:27)

Community in Action

Our passion is to equip believers to serve and share their faith with anyone at any time, and to create a culture of outreach that permeates through every ministry at Garment of Love and Mercy Church.
Being a servant opens the door to the heart of the person you serve and that is our basis for outreach. Because we all have gifts designed to help others, Garment of Love can do great things locally, nationally, and internationally through local outreach and ministry trips. We also call upon nonprofit organizations and international churches to minister alongside with us as we take Jesus to serve others in our world. From widows, prisoners, the elderly, the displaced, refugees, orphans, jobless youth, and the sick in our hospitals, we are able to see Jesus transform people of all walks of life.
Garment of Love and Mercy Church is committed to telling our community, nation, and world about what the Jewish Carpenter can do in transforming lives!
“…And ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
